B or C CoP for night RW?

B or C CoP for night RW?

Postby pchapman » Sat Apr 21, 2012 1:21 pm

I think it long used to be that needed an "A" for night jumps, but "C" for night RW, unlike just a "B" during the day.

Section 3.19 on Group Freefall says "C" for night RW. (In the new 2012 PIM 1)

But in the section on CoP privileges, for the "B" CoP it says:

Privileges:
The holder of a Class B Certificate of Proficiency may
participate in:
[...]
- Group night jumps, once briefed and signed off by an
SSE.

So is it still a "C", or did the rules change to a "B"?
I've emailed the CWC to point out the discrepancy.

CoP's are the domain of the T&SC if I am not mistaken.

Thanks Dave. I just routed my email based on a CSPA page saying that the CWC is responsible for the PIMs. (Although I see that some things therein will be the responsibility of others.)

Barry McAuley of the T&SC responded: You still need a C CoP for night RW.

(Sounds like some other committee had other ideas, something slipped through an edit, but the T&SC was not properly included in the decision making process. Therefore the requirement stays as before, requiring a C.)

Not sure how that can happen as its the T&SC who is responsible for the PIM 1. CWC for Pim 2 , CNTC for pim 4. BoD and office for all others.
