IA and IB changes

Postby David Hodge » Fri May 25, 2012 11:04 pm

This is an FYI to inform those with either an Instructor A and/or Instructor B rating that these ratings are being discontinued as of May 25th 2012 and you are being grandfathered into the new CSPA Ratings system.

If you currently hold an IA rating, you will be given the JM and GCI ratings and all the privileges assigned to those ratings.
  • Jump Master (JM)
  • Ground Control Instructor (GCI)

If you currently also have an IB rating, you will be given the SSI and SSE ratings and all the privileges assigned to those ratings.
  • Skydiving School Instructor (SSI)
  • Skydiving School Examiner (SSE)

Please also take into account the currency requirements that will need to be signed off prior to any renewal at the end of this skydive season when you renew next. A copy of the requirements are included in this email and an online* means of submitting the needed information will be available prior to the implementation of this. You will receive additional information midsummer and the form will also be available via the CSPA web site at that time which will require an SSE signature to verify contacts and jumps.

*online method will only be available to those with non expired memberships and those who submit their ratings currency online will not need to submit the paperwork to the National Office but must keep it with their logbook as random requests will be made to receive copies. Members who renew their membership after it has expired will be required to submit the currency paperwork via mail/fax. There is no fee from CSPA to renew your ratings on time.
