To be called a good skydiver today, the novice jumper must demonstrate a skill level that 20 years ago was reserved for "skygods". The CSPA Coaching Working Committee (CWC) recognizes that you can become a good skydiver without spending thousands of jumps and dollars or search out some skydiving guru to tell you the "secret" stuff. This is where the Instructor and Coach come into play for you.
The proper techniques are easy to learn. Moreover in Canada we have the people and knowledge to show us how to become good jumpers and also competitive ones at an international level. That is to say, we have the “right stuff” with hundreds of dedicated Coaches. What follows is an outline of CSPA's implementation of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). We believe it will provide a comprehensive training system for any skydiver at any level who wishes to improve his or her abilities under canopy or in the air.
The association between the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC/NCCP) and the CSPA Coaching/Instructor system allows for the registration and recognition of CSPA's certified Coaches. The benefits accrued by this association include:
- National recognition for the coaches
- Access to valuable resources for updating coaching techniques
- Funding for further development
