Skydiving Skills Model

Introduction

The Skydiving Skills Model divides every jump into 5 skill areas. It is used with the Skydiving Skills Grid(s) both Basic and Recreational to help illustrate parts of the skydive.

Preparation

 Activities on the ground prior to boarding the aircraft

Inflight

 Activities in the aircraft up to and including the exit

Freefall

 Activities from "letting go" to main activation

Canopy Control

 Activities from canopy opening to landing

Equipment

 Preparation and use of parachute equipment
